Abstract: 

The sixth and final definitive edition of Charles Darwin's groundbreaking work, substantially revised and expanded by the author to address contemporary scientific criticisms. Most notably, this edition includes a brand-new chapter (Chapter VII) dedicated to refuting the objections of St. George Mivart and others regarding the inception of useful structures. It is also the first edition in which Darwin officially adopts Herbert Spencer's term "survival of the fittest" alongside "natural selection" and uses the word "evolution" within the text. This version represents the ultimate statement of Darwin's classic evolutionary theory during his lifetime.
